No dia 9 deste mês, fui passar a tarde com a minha família no jardim zoológico de Lisboa. De tudo o que vi, houve algo que chamou a minha atenção e decidi partilhar convosco uma vez que está relacionado com o projecto que estou a realizar. Estáva um tarde agradável e por isso decidi aproveitar ao máximo. Fui ver o espetáculo dos golfinhos e dos leões marinhos e houve algo inovador que me deixou bastante contente. Com tantos problemas ambientais e ameaças aos ecossistemas dos mamíferos marinhos, os biólogos deste Zoo decidiram introduzir no seu espectáculo uma mensagem de preservação do ambiente marinho de forma a não prejudicar mais todas as espécies marinhas e tentar reverter a recente situação. Na minha opinião esta mensagem num espectáculo destes é muito importante para sensibilizar e educar as pessoas; especialmente as crianças, que são o público mais comum neste tipo de espetáculos. Os biólogos apelaram-nos para não jogarmos lixo fora; uma vez que os animais indefesos podem brincar com eles e podem acabar por ser contaminados ou mesmo morrer. Também focaram a existência de um grupo de golfinhos do rio sado que corre grandes risco de extinção uma vez que está constantemente a ser bombardeado por poluição sonora, produzida pelos barcos tanto de roteiros turísticos como de pesca; contaminação das águas; através da libertação de esgotos, por exemplo; e ainda pelo lixo que as pessoas deitam fora sem sem preocupar com os danos que podem causar. Por isso mesmo vos quero transmitir esta mensagem para que possam mudar os vossos hábitos e para que mudem os hábitos dos vossos amigos também, para salvarmos, não os golfinhos residentes em portugal, mas também todos as outras espécies marinhas e terrestres de todo o planeta.
Hi everybody!
On the 9th of this month, I spent the afternoon with my family at Lisbon's Zoo. From everything I saw there was something that caught my attention and I decided to share with you since it is related to the project that I am conducting. It was a nice afternoon and so I decided to make the most. I went to see the dolphins sea lions' show , and there was something innovative that made me really happy. With so many environmental problems and threats to the ecosystems of marine mammals, biologists of the zoo decided to introduce in the show a message of conservation of the marine environment so as to not harm most all marine species and try to reverse the recent situation. In my view this message in this show is very important to raise awareness and educate people, especially children, public which are more common in this type of shows. Biologists have called us to put the dust in the bin, once the helpless animals may play with them and may end up being contaminated or even die. Also focused on the existence of a group of Sado river dolphins that runs great risk of extinction because it is constantly being bombarded by noise pollution produced by ships from both tours or fishing, water contamination, through the release of sewage ,for example, and even the garbage that people throw away without worrying about the damage they can cause. So even if you want to convey this message you can change your habits to save, not only the dolphins resident in Portugal, but also all the other marine and land species all over the globe
